Taipei part of Republic of China, commonly known as Taiwan is an all time favourite tourist’s destination.
Rich in culture and the many tourist attraction on Chinese history; the famous Taipei 101 which is the world’s tallest building at the moment; shopping; temples and parks and not forgetting the endless street snacks you get almost anywhere you go.
As interesting as it sounds, I reckon Taipei a must visit for first timers. I had my fair share of Taiwan cuisines at the night markets and definitely would pay more visits soon to explore the other attractions outside Taipei City.
We booked a trip to Taipei via MAS last year during their airline promotion... and this year Air Asia now flies to Taipei directly at really accordable prices... It takes about 4 hours from KL to Taipei International airport...
The lunch! Ok I never fancy meals on the plane... The best was definitely the chocolates that came with the set meal.. LOL!
They were serving chicken satay with rice that day... I saved my tummy waiting for the food at Taiwan instead... :P
We stayed at Delight Hotel near Chung Shan North Road... quite convenient; only 5-10 minutes walk to the MRT station...
The MRT... clean and nice... We used this mode of transport almost everyday... really convenient and you can travel almost anywhere...

We visited the Taipei Technology Centre... Similar to the ones you find at Low Yat... :P
Half way we decided to have the all time famous bubble milk tea...

In Shimen Ding, you get almost anything!!! FOOD, Shopping, Chicks, Snacks, Attractions and many more...
Reminds me of Hong Kong but less packed! :P
We visited a snack store and they were selling assorted chocolates and candies... hehe!
Apparently the chocolate resembles the shape of things you see displayed on the box!
More FOOD! I simply loved their pork dumplings... You can order, pack and eat as you go...

anway, i totally agree with you about the good food and shopping.. basically cos i've been to taiwan 7 times! LOL! i really love that place..
